Mr Mental Collection

Our good friend Johnny hall we crewed on his cars and he crews on ours this is a collection of pictures
taken from the old B & J website

The Happening this was Johnny's rover powered slingshot and ran with the wild bunch and the supercharged outlaws. The carran a best of 8.5 seconds at over 150 mph. Johnny had many a battle with Roy Wilding and has big Hemi Hunter slingshot  and Johnny often came out best . A typical David and Goliath battle.
Another shot of the Happening this time at Santa Pod .this was a peak performance test day and we had a reporter and photographer from the Grimsby evening Telegraph follow us around and record the day for an article in the newspaper, Unfortunately we torched a cylinder head on our first pass
The art work was very special on this car it looked really
good. Johnny nearly wiped it out on it's debut with a giant
wheelie  he had the car sidewards on the landing and was
heading towards the armco only a excellent piece of driving
saved the day. We put the front end ballast back after that
run?
Johnny then went and purchased the ex Norm Wheeldon plan X slingshot chassis and along with Bill Felstead upgraded it to today's spec and fitted a small block Chevrolet motor blown and injected on Nitro the car ran a best of 6.9 seconds at 183 mph at the hot rod drags at Shakespeare county raceway
The nitro engine it was an after market world products
racing block with brodix ali heads  a high rise inlet manifold
with port injection and on top sat a stage 4 front discharge
6-71 blower  total horse power in the region of
1800-2000 bhp
Another peak performance day at Santa Pod this time on Nitro cannot remember what times we ran this day but I am sure Johnny will remind me
Pulling up the front wheels at SCR this picture was
taken into the sun and I believe it was taken
by Richard Stirling
Waiting for Bev to gives us the signal to fire up at SCR Bill seems to be pointing at something while Mark And Dave look very casual
Two tee shirts produced for the B & J nostalgia team
I believe there may be a few of these left for sale.
 I will give details later
Johnny starting his burnout at Santa Pod raceway This is one of Sharkmans pictures He has an excellent site at www.topendtales.com
One of the lighter moments in the B & J workshops when
a customer was a bit late with paying for work done on
his car they resulted in kidnapping and threatened to
do the chicken in
Johnny getting himself ready for another pass in the nitro slingshot.
That magic six second run with the parachutes out this was taken by sharkman
Roz Prior visited the BJ workshop and tried out the nitro slingshot for size
Another picture of Roz
Kev (closet ) Mortimer gets his wallet out a rare event this so it had to be photographed
This was a classic shot taken as the car arrived at Santa Pod for a peak performance test day.
Another classic picture this one was taken by sharkman at the Ace cafe in London on a November night the car was fired up for the entertainment of the crowd. this shot was taken on a long exposure if my memory serves me right.
Happy crew heading of to retrieve Johnny from the top end at SCR after the six second pass
